  8. This archive contains all libraries, support files and
  9. documentation for MiamiSSL, an implementation of the
  10. SSL (Secure Socket Layer) standard. MiamiSSL is based
  11. on SSLeay by Eric Young.
  12.  
  13. SSL is the standard used by many Web Servers to support
  14. "secure" (encrypted and authenticated) transactions,
  15. allowing you to e.g. safely transmit credit card
  16. numbers across the Internet for online ordering.

  18. In addition to the contents of this archive you also
  19. need a registered version of Miami 2.1 or higher with
  20. new (version-2) keyfiles, and one of the SSL encryption
  21. libraries, containing the strong encryption code. Please
  22. see the docs in this archive for more info on all of
  23. this.

  25. And you will probably want some software that uses
  26. MiamiSSL :). At the moment the only web browser that
  27. supports MiamiSSL is Voyager 2.x, available from
  28. www.vapor.com.

  31. IMPORTANT NOTE TO DISTRIBUTORS: This archive does NOT
  32. contain any encryption code, but only the *support files*
  33. for MiamiSSL. The actual encryption code is distributed
  34. separately. This archive is NOT subject to US export
  35. restrictions, and MAY be freely exported from the US.
